CLAIRE LLOYD
FOUNDER

STARTING OUT

Enjoying a lifelong passion for music, Claire Lloyd completed her music degree before taking her first steps in marketing, promotions, and band management joining 1917 Corp, to help devise and deliver a number of successful marketing campaigns. These included Sony, BMG, Island Records, and an array of independent labels and working release campaigns such as The Clash’s ‘The Singles’ Box Set Clash, Mel C, Nanci Griffith and Alison Krauss.

Pursuing a passion for Country/Americana, Claire subsequently started a successful monthly live music night called The Lost Highway. The nights featured US touring acts, as well as homegrown talent. The venture featured in The Sunday Times culture magazine.

Claire then moved to 7pm Management, run by music manager Seven Webster (Skindred, REEF, Michael Monroe etc). Claire worked co-booking festivals including events like the London City Showcase and The Sci-Fi Weekender as well as handling public relations for a number of artists (becoming Head of PR). At 7pm Management, she devised and delivered PR campaigns for artists like Grinspoon and Skindred amongst others.

It was here that she really discovered her passion for PR which in turn inspired her to launch Central Press. At the same time, she created a new PR division in conjunction with both 7pm Management & Chic Festivals handling the PR for all the numerous Chic Festivals and events, notably the HRH – Hard Rock Hell franchise.

Now over a decade later she still works alongside and with 7pm Management on a number of key artists.

PR for Chic Festivals and HRH

As well as founding Central Press, Claire continued to provide PR for Chic Festivals and HRH (Europe’s most successful residential festival provider), going on to take over PR and press for all their growing events. She was involved indirectly in aiding their growth, exposure, and reputation.

The HRH/Chic Festivals stable now includes HARD ROCK HELL, HRH CROWS, HRH PROG, HRH BLUES, HRH SLEAZE, HRH Doom Vs Stoner, HRH AOR, HRH NWOBHM, HRH METAL, HRH ROADTRIP, HRH VIKINGS, SFW IN THE CITY and Sci-Fi Weekender. (HRH now frequently sells out before the line-ups are fully announced).

Claire was responsible for booking the Unplugged stages and ran HRH TV for 3 years and in this role, she enjoyed directorial input into the documentary HRH – 10 Years of Hell (available on Amazon).

Claire very much enjoyed building a solid media following for the HRH brand throughout the years and was responsible for launching new events to the press. Over the years, she secured national press coverage in digital, print and television such as The Sun, The Independent, The Guardian, Metro, S4C TV, BBC Radio and ITV NEWS.

Central Press PR Today

After 10 years of enjoyable and valued service for Chic Festivals and HRH, Claire decided to move on to concentrate on Central Press roster and other projects. At Central Press, she represented major overseas and international acts such as Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Tucker Beathard, Gogol Bordello, Israeli singer-songwriter David Broza, and Japan’s stadium-filling band Radwimps, bringing them to the UK market.

Claire then worked with the innovative Brighton-based WaterBear Music College, project managing consultation clinics. This involved interviewing industry insiders and experts for their website and social media platforms, focusing on advice for bands and musicians in the rapidly changing industry.

In 2018, Claire became involved with the successful Underground Music Conferences, touring the UK and providing invaluable opportunities for aspiring and up-and-coming artists, bands and songwriters.

Central Press understands the fast-moving pace of the industry and strives to keep up to date with new developments and continues to form valuable new alliances, relationships, and contacts on a regular basis.
